Nourish, Heal & Thrive as a New Mother

In the postpartum window, a mother is also newly born.

Just as she nourishes and cares for her baby, she, too, needs nourishment and loving support. In today’s culture, the significance of this transition is often minimized, with independence valued over wellbeing.

Motherhood is often a reckoning. Though it may feel unfamiliar—and perhaps uncomfortable—learning to ask for and accept support during this time is essential to long-term health.

In many traditions, the first 40 days after birth are considered sacred. Communities gather to offer food, healing touch, and household support. This wisdom reflects a deep understanding: the body needs space to rest and recover after birth; caring for a newborn is a significant undertaking; and a nourished mother is essential for a nourished baby.

To provide families with this level of care, Take Care Mama partners with SoulFull Somatics, a holistic and trauma-informed postpartum doula. With many years of somatic healing experience, she offers support that extends beyond typical postpartum doula services such as baby care, light housework, and meal preparation. Her holistic approach also includes:

  • Holistic birth recovery services

  • Herbal support

  • Bodywork

  • Yoga therapy

  • Energy healing

She serves families throughout the greater Denver metro area (a travel fee may apply for those more than 30 minutes from Littleton).
